The site dates back to prehistoric era which is located among the mountain of the same name.
The Statue of Hercules, Bisotun Bridge and Shah Abbasi Caravanserai are just a few examples of the historical items of the region.
Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the main attraction of the site is undoubtedly the bas-relief and cuneiform inscription ordered by Darius the Great, when he rose to the throne of the Persian Empire in 521 BC.
